Fu#k you Cancer!
Hello everybody, and welcome to Wake.X Taupo Takeover 2023. This year is a little bit different to all the other years if you have been participating with us.
If you have been staying at the Motouapa Bay holiday Park, then you will be familiar with Chantelle and Sam the owners of the park. These people are such awesome human beings! They are always very friendly, very kind, very polite people that always put up with us, our noisy skis, and occupying their driveways with all of our equipment every year.
Recently Chantelle was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. Chantelle is only 28 years old. She a young and very healthy mother and doesn’t deserve cancer but then again, nobody deserves cancer.
In the next week or two, Chantelle will undergo surgery to remove the cancer, a surgery called the Whipple surgery. This is a very scary time for the family and not something to be taken very lightly.
Wake.X has decided to dedicate Taupo Takeover 2023 to raising funds for the Cancer Society (cancer.org.nz) in light of Chantelle‘s health so all funds raised for TT 23 will go to the Cancer Society, you may donate as little as five dollars or as much as you wish through our website when you register for Taupo take over.
Chantelle will not be at the park when we go, as she will be with her family recovering. We all wish her very well on her recovery and we hope she makes a speedy recovery and we wish them well.
Thank you
